The Egyptian King · Giza plateau
A private guide and driver for the Giza pyramids and the Sphinx, at the lowest price on our list, with options for a camel, the Grand Egyptian Museum or an all-inclusive day with tickets and lunch. Pick it if you want a guide on the plateau and plan to pay the tickets yourself.

Twelve dollars buys exactly what the option name says: "tour guid and car only". You get a private guide, an air-conditioned car with driver, hotel pickup and a bottle of water. The plateau ticket, 700 EGP (about $13) per foreign adult, is on top and the gate takes cards only. Even with the ticket, it is the cheapest guided morning at Giza we have found.
Three options sit above it. "Car, guide, camel no tickets" adds a 15-minute camel ride. "All inclusive & inside pyramid" adds the plateau ticket, a local lunch of koshary or falafel, a 15-minute camel ride on request and the inside of a pyramid. And "Full day pyramids & GEM" adds the Grand Egyptian Museum. Check which pyramid the all-inclusive covers: reviewers describe going into a queen's pyramid or "one of the small ones", and one was annoyed to find the Great Pyramid (1,500 EGP, about $27) wasn't in it.
The lunch is basic and reviewers say so: a bowl of traditional vegetarian food, no choice. Papyrus, spice and oil shops come up in many reviews, mostly without pressure. Pickup from the airport hotels, Nasr City, 6th of October City or New Cairo costs extra. Want to skip the guide altogether? Our guide to Giza without a tour covers Uber, the gate and the shuttle buses.
Your guide and driver collect you. The guide usually messages first.
The guide explains the plateau at the new visitor centre before you go in.
Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure from outside by shuttle bus, plus a small pyramid interior on the all-inclusive option.
On the options with a camel. The guide can help with a fair price if you pay on the spot.
The terrace beside the Valley Temple.
Koshary or falafel on the all-inclusive option, often with a papyrus or oils stop.
★★★★★Once at the pyramids visitor center, he took the time to explain things in more detail and provided a lot of information. Then, he helped us get the government rate for the camel ride (to ensure we weren’t scammed). From there, we went to see the pyramids (and entered one of the small ones) and the sphynx.
★★★★★I was very fortunate to have a private trip so was given the option of doing or not doing activities.
★★★★★He has taken me to see the Pyramids and Sphinx, a fabulous camel ride, Papyrus demonstration, oils presentation, and a delicious Kushary lunch !
★★★★★Papyrus and spice shops good also… no high pressure to purchase goods. Lunch was just… meh. Could have been in a nicer place. No options, just bowl of traditional food.

The "tour guid and car only" option: a private guide, an air-conditioned car with driver, hotel pickup in Cairo or Giza and water. The plateau ticket (700 EGP, about $13) and any interior are extra.
Reviewers describe a queen's pyramid or one of the small ones, not the Great Pyramid. The Great Pyramid interior costs 1,500 EGP (about $27) on top. Ask the operator before you book.
A local lunch of koshary (rice, lentils, pasta and tomato sauce) or falafel. Reviewers call it traditional and vegetarian, with no choice of dishes.
Often a papyrus, spice or oils stop. Most reviewers felt no pressure, and on a private tour you can decline.
