Private Giza Tour with Inside-Pyramid Options

About this experience

A1 Egypt Private Day Tours holds a 5.0 average from 1,786 reviews, and the guides get the credit: reviewers name them, ask for them again and praise the photos. The basic day is four to five hours on the plateau: Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, the Sphinx and the viewpoints, with the electric shuttle buses doing the long legs.

The $15 from-price is "Only car and guide included", and the listing says so plainly. Add the plateau ticket, 700 EGP (about $13), and 1,500 EGP (about $27) for the Great Pyramid if you want to go in. The other seven options build up from there: all-inclusive with the inside of the Great Pyramid; all-inclusive with the inside of the third pyramid; inside both; the GEM with the pyramids and the Great Pyramid; the pyramids and the GEM, with or without a felucca on the Nile; and Giza with Saqqara. The all-inclusive options add the plateau ticket, a camel ride and lunch with a soft drink.

The options that say "3rd pyramid" need a question before you book. Menkaure, the third pyramid, has been closed for maintenance since 11 September 2026; Khafre reopened the same day for about 200 to 300 EGP. Ask A1 Egypt what you'll enter on your date. The "All incl & inside great pyramid" option avoids the problem. Our guide to the interiors compares the three.

What guests say

★★★★★

We particularly enjoyed climbing inside the Great Pyramid (although caution that this is not suitable for anyone who has any breathing difficulties/ issues with confined spaces/ problems with knees).

★★★★★

Definite advantages to starting earlier - the queues got a lot longer to enter the pyramid after we left!

Khaled was a fantastic tour guide [...] He was professional, took amazing pictures, and explained everything very well. He also made sure to shield us from all the hagglers.

We had all inclusive tour, which I would recommend. The pyramids site is vast and using hop-on hop-off busses is very convenient. Going inside Khufu's pyramid is physically challenging, inside is hot and humid, but it is once in a lifetime experience.

Tips before you book

  • Carry a credit card even on an all-inclusive option. A June 2026 guest paid the tickets by card at the cashless gate and the guide refunded them in cash inside.
  • Bring small notes for the camel handler. A March 2026 reviewer wrote that the partner camel owner "demands a minimum $5 per person" on top of the included ride.
  • Start early. Interior queues grow after about 10 a.m., and the passages get hotter.
  • The man with the rearing horse wants a tip for the photo. Agree it first.
  • On a GEM option, foreigners need a timed online ticket from visit-gem.com; confirm who books the slot.

Frequently asked questions

Which A1 Egypt option includes the Great Pyramid?

"All incl & inside great pyramid", "GEM, pyramids & great pyramid" and "inside great and third pyramid". On the $15 car-and-guide option you pay 1,500 EGP (about $27) yourself at the gate, plus the 700 EGP plateau ticket.

What happens if I book the third-pyramid option?

Menkaure, the third pyramid, has been closed for maintenance since 11 September 2026. Message A1 Egypt before the day: Khafre reopened at the same time and is the usual alternative, or switch to the Great Pyramid option.

Is the camel ride really included?

In the all-inclusive options, yes. A 2026 reviewer still reports the partner camel owner asking for at least $5 per person on top. Treat it as a tip and agree the amount before you climb on.

Is it really private?

Yes, the listing says only your group takes part, and reviews describe a guide and driver for the family or couple alone.
